About Me
38, living in the eastern parts of The Netherlands. Listening to (black) metal since 1999. First bands, I still (sometimes) listen: Slayer, Marduk, Ancient Rites, Absu, God Dethroned, Warlust, Phlebotomized, Immortal, Mayhem.
Don't consider myself a 'metalhead'. I don't care much for metal (scene nor genre's) outside black metal, but appreciate certain death, doom/stoner, thrash/speed, and pagan/viking/folk metal bands. Although I must say I find myself more and more interested in thrash/speed metal and heavy metal-ish bands lately..
And I also listen other kinds of music: retro/vintage rock (Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Black Widow), classical music (old, Baroque, some Romantic composers (Schubert, Fauré), contemporary), Jazz (fusion, 50's/60's Blue Note), neo-folk/neo-classical/martial, (dark) ambient, post-industrial, noise/power electronics, post-punk/new wave, space rock/kraut rock/psychedelic rock/acid folk.
Literature (Dutch: Reve, Hermans, Voskuil, Komrij; French (in Dutch): Céline, Houellebecq), philosophy (Parmenides, Heraclitus, Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes, Rousseau, Burke, Tocqueville, Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Scheler, Jünger, Schmitt), rugby, satanic weightlifting. Pan-European, post-liberal, atheistic conservative/right-wing communitarian; yet misanthropic. No socialism; neither international nor national.
"That equating of good and evil, of beautiful and ugly, that trivial gentleness, that widespread unctuousness, is one of the plagues of our time. Hate is a virtue!" Flaubert.
